Provision of lands under the 'Rebuilding Sri Lanka' program for the resettlement of families whose homes were fully damaged by Cyclone Ditwah and for families identified as high-risk for landslides, and provision of compensation for business losses, and provision of financial grants for the construction of houses and for restoration of businesses, took place this afternoon (06th) at the Niyangoda School Playground in Arambekade, under the patronage of the Honorable President.
At this event, compensation was provided to about 150 families in the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of Poojapitiya, Hatharaliyadda, Thumpane, Yatinuwara, and Harispattuwa.
Further, compensation was also provided to 68 beneficiaries in total which included 39 businessmen, for the recovery of industries and 29 families in total in the Poojapitiya Divisional Secretariat Division.The compensation was provided in the following manner
